Crosby Independent School District is a public school district based in Crosby—an unincorporated area of northeastern Harris County, Texas (USA) within the Houston–Sugar Land–Baytown metropolitan area. The district also serves very small portions of the city of Houston. According to Texas Education Agency AEIS report in 2007-2008 Crosby ISD served 4,855 students. 21% were African-American, 22.2% Hispanic, 56.1% White, 0.3% Native American, 0.4% Asian. For 2013 Crosby Independent School District had the highest school district tax rate in Harris County, Texas at $1.67 per $100 valuation. In 2014, Niche.com gave Crosby High School a rating of "C-" and indicated that 72% of other Texas high schools performed better on standardized tests.
